What is a credit card token?

By replacing the cardholder’s Primary Account Number (PAN) with a randomly generated identifier, it adds a deeper layer of security to sensitive information online. This process is called tokenisation and it’s used to prevent credit card fraud. The token will be stored in your guest’s profile, and it can be used to take further payment before, during and after their stay. 

Can RMS PAY use my existing tokens from another payment gateway?

RMS PAY is unable to perform a receipt or refund against a token created by another gateway (including RMS Vault). This is a restriction that applies to all gateways when transitioning from one to another. We recommend sending forward reservations an email inviting them to the Guest Portal to refresh their credit card information or using Pre-Check-In. 

What happens if I receive a dispute?

You can manage all your disputes via the dashboard in RMS PAY, including accepting and defending disputes.  You won't need to liaise with banks or payment providers, and if you need help to better understand how to monitor and defend charges, you can get support from our team.
